Bluetooth SIM access profile

Nokia have announced that Bluetooth SIM Access Profile will be a standard feature in the Nokia N91’s software. This is good news as it means that certain car kits, for example the Nokia 616 can access ID data stored on the SIM cards of Phones. It also means no more fiddling around swapping SIM cards or purchasing separate numbers for use in car.

This announcement was picked up by Phil on S60 blog and from there on Abdul Aziz’s Journal.

Hi adam,

Thanks for the thread, we had picked it up previously, just waiting for conversation to take off.

Are there car kits available in the US that take advantage of this SAP technology?

Hi Bruce

The Nokia 616 car kit is the recommended kit to use which includes this technology.

This is not currently available on the Nokia USA website.
