N91-WiFi

Karsten, from German community ModernBoard, has been having problems getting an N91 to access the web via a WLAN network. Roadrunner offers some top advice.

Make sure you’re entering the correct WEP key (no brainer!). If that's not the issue then turn off the router's encryption, so there's no need to enter a WEP key. Finally, update firmware in case the problem lies within the device itself.

Let's not forget to turn off MAC filtering on the WiFi router/access point.

Or, to add the MAC of the N91 to the allowed MAC addressed on the WiFi access point. The MAC address can be found by typing *#62209526* or *#mac0wlan*

Hi Filip,

Thanks for your comment, we have covered the MAC address shortcut in a previous post (http://wordontheblog.com/n91/2005/11/300_cycle_drop_test.html#7), but it doesn't do any harm to give it another mention.
