N91 gallery access

N91 user Bread5tick from 3G is experiencing an irritating little problem. Video files cannot be accessed from the media gallery and have to be accessed via the file manager.

The obvious solution for such a problem would be a hard reset (*#7370#) and/or a firmware update (see here). However, Bread5tick has tried both with no success.

Although not a perfect solution, changing the memory selected to store files (hard drive or device memory) may help.

Camera > Options > Settings > Video > Memory in use > select

If this fails, take a trip to a Nokia Service centre.

Not in familiar territory here, so, does a hard reset get rid of all existing files on the phone, or is there a way of saving them?

Hi Stephan,

Thanks for the comment.

Whenever formatting or restoring your device, Nokia recommends you backup content. You can do this with Nokia PC Suite using the backup facility.

I regularly backup the contents of my N91, imagine losing all of your contacts and applications!

If you installed the nokia image editor before any firmware update and not installed the image editor after the update, you may not access the gallery. try to install nokia image editor. i've experienced this error when i updated my n91.
